We provided this service to our visitors as a means to start researching the labor market. These listings do not constitute an endorsement by Career Network Associates. Rationale for requesting a profile search:

As a Board Certified Vocational Expert with twenty-five years experience helping mental-health professionals to locate employment, I have a definite bias regarding how one should locate employment. It has always been my opinion that answering ads of current job openings is not the most effective way to find your next job. I make this statement for several reasons:

• You are competing with a plethora of other applicants reducing considerably your chances of being considered.
  Maxim: Obviate the competition.
• Most jobs listed as current are "stale." The job opening may have been listed for some time and the employer most likely has identified several good applicants.
  Maxim: Apply for current openings as an adjunct to your job-search campaign - create your own job where you are not in competition with many other job seekers.
• Most of the premium jobs are never advertised. You've heard of the hidden job market," and believe me when I say it does exist.
  Maxim: Research, research and more research. Act proactively not reactively.

It takes a professional with considerable experience to help you in this process. It is important to recognize that the professional you entrust with this request must not have "hidden agendas" or quotas to meet. As a Board Certified Vocational Expert (ABVE), I will research the labor market from the databases I maintain and will provide you with a plan to find your next job. It will include a listing of employers who have a history of hiring mental-health professionals and will be specific to your individual predilections. If you are looking for marriage counseling position, I will not include employers that hire clinicians who do general clinical work, but employers that devote at least two thirds of their time to marriage counseling. The list will be specific to your geographical preferences.

In addition, when appropriate, I will make you aware of professional organizations, publications, etc. where you can continue your research. Obviously, this coaching process consumes considerable professional time; therefore, I must charge to perform this "coaching" role. The cost will be individualized, and I will quote you a price to perform this service.
